Wat Nin Prapha Temple

Lost in nature, you will discover a magnificent ancient blue and gold temple. It is a very quiet and peaceful place, rarely visited by tourists. It has been very well preserved and you will fly back in time for sure. Several monks live here and meditate all day long. It is a symbolic place of meditation in the region.

This is the starting point for our jungle trek of the same name. Take the path at the back and climb the mountain to overlook the village. You are about to leave the village houses and head for higher ground.

The first part of the trek is just outside the village from the temple. You will climb just a few kilometers under the trees. The mountainside can be slippery, so you would need good hiking shoes. The beginning can be quite rough, but doesn't last long. It is a good first warm-up!

Once you have reached the top, you will go down to the other side, where you will enter crop fields area. You will pass between the trees, skirt the bed of a small river and arrive in the heart of the valley. Here you will have plenty of wild and fruit trees. Lemon and papaya trees can be seen, for example.

The last part after the crops is a much wider, signposted path. It gradually joins the road south of the Samoeng loop. You are likely to meet locals who cultivate their land there.

At the end of the trail, you will be driven back to our eco-stay. If you need a transfer back to Chiang Mai, we can add this service for you.
