Location: Nam Phrae, Hang Dong, Chiang Mai Distance: 8 kms Duration: 3 hours Level: Medium Environment: Mountain, crop fields, hiking trail, fruits trees Starting from Wat Nin Prapha temple, you start climbing the mountain overlooking the village. The path is small and take you from the local houses to the deep nature. You will follow the path that monks used to walk to reach the temple from the other side of the mountain. The landscapes are very beautiful and authentic. Very few people take this route today. At the end of the mountain path, you will reach impressive crops. TREK DESIGN: The first part of the trek is just outside the village from the temple. You will climb just a few kilometers under the trees. Once you have reached the top, you will go down to the other side, where you will enter crop fields area. You will pass between the trees, skirt the bed of a small river and arrive in the heart of the valley. Here you will have plenty of wild and fruit trees. Lemon and papaya trees can be seen, for example. The last part after the crops is a much wider, signposted path. It gradually joins the road south of the Samoeng loop. You are likely to meet locals who cultivate their land there.
