100 Rivers Story
This jungle trek has the particularity of crossing many connected rivers along the way. They are the identity of that region and all come from the same source on top of mountain. There are said to be around a hundred of them in the valley. The surrounding local villages can benefit from this natural water supply all year round.
These rivers are home to many different plant and animal species. You will probably get the chance to observe colorful butterflies! Many bamboos grow around these water zones and can become very impressive. The sound of water mixed with the jungle atmosphere will definitely delight you and invite you to relax and regain energy.
Take time to find a way to cross these 100 rivers using stones and making your own way. Who will be the first to get wet?
To get the most out of your experience, you would need to be well equipped with the most waterproof hiking shoes, sports clothing and good sun protection. We are very prepared for that one-day trek and your guide will carry with him all the necessities. We drew for you a special list of things you should not forget to bring with you.

Trek Design
As outside sport lovers, we started exploring some options around the homestay to get the most authentic trek route. We found a first path that gave access to the jungle and crop fields. The scenery was so green and bright than we decided to go deeper and study the eco-system. We clearly found in love with that place where nature was in its original shape. Many rivers are spreading out the jungle path, adding a fantastic dimension to reality. It is definitely a magic place to discover during any season of the year.
We obviously wanted to share that unique experience with you. We created our "100 Rivers Trek" to show you the Northern Thailand as you have rarely seen it. This 15 kms eco-trek has been designed as follow:
-
First part reveals green jungle passing a multitude of small and shady rivers.
-
Second part takes you out of the jungle reaching a wide area of rice fields, buffaloes and caves.
-
Third part is dedicated to the visit of one ethical elephant sanctuary.
If you get lucky, you could observe wild elephants when you come out of the jungle!

Visit of ethical elephant sanctuary
Our 100 Rivers Trek ends with the visit of one ethical elephant sanctuary in the region. After walking since the morning, you can see now the elephant rehabilitation center. At this place, they are taking care of these impressive animals providing all what they need. They know perfectly each story of their elephants and are very close to all of them.
This is time for you to have a drink at their coffee place while watching elephants taking their bath. Afterward, you will be asked to feed them bananas. You can give the food through their trunk or directly to their mouth. We hope this moment will be unforgettable for you, so do not hesitate to ask us to take pictures of you.
The sun begins to set and your experience comes to the end. You are about to get into the pick-up to come back home. We were very pleased to have shared this adventure with you and we cannot wait to see you for another jungle tour!
